The Kohley name has been providing quality water conditioning systems to area families and businesses for 60 years. Kohley’s got its start back in 1957 when Elmer and Dolores Kohley moved to West Michigan and purchased a water conditioning franchise.
Propane was not always a part of the Kohley family business. Back in 1981 when gasoline was hard to come by, Kohley’s converted their fleet trucks to propane-powered engines. Customers began asking Kohley’s if they would fill their tanks for them. This in turn, allowed Kohley’s the opportunity to sell propane gas to the community.
Current Generation of Water & Propane Provider
In 1989, Lance Kohley took over the family business with his main location based in Muskegon. Since then, Kohley’s has expanded to a second location in Fremont and a satellite location in Casnovia in order to serve a larger area and rural customers.
In 2010, Kohley’s rebranded in order to combine both sides of their business – water and propane. Now referred to as Kohley’s Superior Water & Propane, the business continues to deliver quality propane and water services as well as the same caring and personalized service that began 60 years ago.
Tom Arnst
Residential & Commercial Service Technician
Since 2019, Tom has been installing and servicing water softeners, drinking water coolers, and reverse osmosis systems for Kohley’s customers.
Rick O’Shinsk
Residential & Commercial Service Technician
Rick has been working at Kohley’s for over 5 years. With his experience and knowledge of the industry, he installs and services all of our water purifying systems in our customers’ homes and offices.
Ann Helsen
Secretary
Ann has proudly been with the company for over 35 years. With her experience, she makes every customer’s experience with billing, in-store sales and services seamless and stress-free.
Collet Domine
Secretary
Collet is a tenured employee, as she has been with the company for over 15 years. She also helps customers with billing, walk in sales and services in order to give them the best experience possible.
Mike Pnacek
Route Delivery Driver
Mike delivers water, salt, and other products to customers all over West Michigan. He has worked at Kohley’s since 2018.
Paul Johnson
Manager
Paul has been an employee of Kohley’s for 32 years. He has worked in many area’s of the business from deliveries, scheduling, and knowledge of testing water and the different systems and processes.
Doug Lockhart
Shop Assistant
Doug has been working in the shop since 2021. If you ever pop into the store, he’ll be glad to help you out.
Josh Robbins
Route Delivery Driver
Josh has been an employee since late 2023 and delivers orders to customers across West Michigan.
